Australian Youth Academy's Dani Cochrane proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 22nd minute of the match, managed to save Australian Youth Academy from getting a goal against them. After a rather tough play, Australian Youth Academy's Brice Lewry got a free kick in the 23rd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Carmichael Tinsley in the 27th minute of play forced N·S's goalkeeper 柳亮希 to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 32nd minute 吴天平 shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dani Cochrane saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 44th match minute, Australian Youth Academy was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dwight Baba to maneuver through the defense. 柳亮希 stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Carmichael Tinsley's shot from short distance in the 48th minute. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when 吴天平 stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Dani Cochrane took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from 吴天平, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Sharizan Keng got free with 柳亮希 in the 63rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Through an outstanding action, after 66 minutes, 柳亮希 successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of 柳亮希. Ben Minton sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Dani Cochrane showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from 吴天平, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. 94 minutes into the game, 吴天平 was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. N·S's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Australian Youth Academy the free kick. In the 94th minute, 吴天平 hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A hard shot by Carmichael Tinsley from long distance, 95 minutes into the match, got 柳亮希's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Australian Youth Academy had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
