Janusz Niedzwiecki scored 0-1 in the 6th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ernesto Formaggio, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Ernesto Formaggio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Janusz Niedzwiecki in the 11th minute of play. Ernesto Formaggio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Benedykt Majewski, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ernesto Formaggio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Benedykt Majewski, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. 16 minutes into the match, Schuster's goal looked a bit too open when Radomil Smolarek came free, but Ernesto Formaggio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The wind increased when Janusz Niedzwiecki made the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alex Di Nunzio in the 57th minute of play forced Red Army's goalkeeper Lech Konopka to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Red Army booed when Schuster was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Anthony Alberico didn't get a good kick on the ball. 64 minutes into the match, Schuster's goalkeeper Ernesto Formaggio had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Janusz Niedzwiecki. After 64 minutes, Antonio Ceccarelli mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Schuster and the Red Army players grew even worse after the yellow card. Antonio Ceccarelli kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. 68 minutes into the match, Red Army's goal looked a bit too open when Carter Rocco came free, but Lech Konopka reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Franciszek Prosowski had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Schuster made a substitution. Edmondo Stella replaced Armin Altobelli. Schuster's Ernesto Formaggio proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 76th minute of the match, managed to save Schuster from getting a goal against them. Lech Konopka made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Camillo Travaglini in the 77th minute of play. When Schuster's Alex Di Nunzio in the 79th minute got a chance for a shot 79th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Carter Rocco in the 91st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Lech Konopka saved Red Army from getting behind. In the 91st match minute, Schuster was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Veronica Ciccone to maneuver through the defense. 95 minutes into the match, Edmondo Stella had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Lech Konopka. Red Army's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Edmondo Stella was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. For all the effort they put into the match, the Red Army players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Schuster.
