Jonas Abreu showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. In the 7th minute, João Pedro Goiano made a precise shot to the right of Mike Debruyne. Olympique Salonais's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. In the 11th minute the ball was on its way in behind Olympique Salonais's goalkeeper Mike Debruyne, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Mike Debruyne made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edgard Cavalcante in the 13th minute of play. Yann Dieumegard's late challenge caught a Elite™- FC Galácticos's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Yann Dieumegard helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Elite™- FC Galácticos booed when Olympique Salonais was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Yann Dieumegard didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 15 played minutes, Elite™- FC Galácticos's Richard Torres shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Mike Debruyne came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Elite™- FC Galácticos reached it. In the 17th minute, Elite™- FC Galácticos's Josué Quintal dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 3-0. The crowd rose to their feet as Elite™- FC Galácticos's Edgard Cavalcante slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Mike Debruyne. That made the score 4-0 after 20 minutes of play. João Pedro Goiano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Jean-Charles Maugendre fell near the penalty area in the 24th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Olympique Salonais's protests and gave Jean-Charles Maugendre a yellow card for diving instead. Jean-Charles Maugendre hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. Mike Debruyne came out of the goal in the 27th minute to try and stop a shot by Elite™- FC Galácticos's Josué Quintal. But to his dismay, Josué Quintal quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-0. Ademar Velloso came free with the goalkeeper in the 31st minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Mike Debruyne could save by the left post. In the 32nd minute, Jean-Charles Maugendre hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Mike Debruyne stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Josué Quintal's shot from short distance in the 33rd minute. Elite™- FC Galácticos's attack was well implemented in the 33rd minute, but when Josué Quintal was about to shoot he didn't get a good hit on the ball and it hit the crossbar and flew over. Goal Kick. In the 34th minute Bertrand Requier shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eric Donnarumma saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jonas Abreu got free with Mike Debruyne in the 38th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Auguste Mallard fell near the penalty area in the 39th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Olympique Salonais's protests and gave Auguste Mallard a yellow card for diving instead. With a little luck, Olympique Salonais's Mike Debruyne got control of the ball when Jonas Abreu tried to sneak it across the goal line. Bertrand Requier fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eric Donnarumma having to interfere. Mike Debruyne took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edgard Cavalcante, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 5-0.
Olympique Salonais's Christopher Lucas was substituted for Yann Dieumegard. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Josué Quintal to make the kick off. Mike Debruyne stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Josué Quintal's shot from short distance in the 53rd minute. 54 minutes had been played when some careless play by Olympique Salonais's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Richard Torres was slow to take the kick. During this time Elite™- FC Galácticos's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Richard Torres almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Olympique Salonais's Mike Debruyne did a great save. In the 58th minute Manuel Dodard shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eric Donnarumma saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mike Debruyne showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jonas Abreu in the 61st minute of the match. In the 61st match minute, Elite™- FC Galácticos was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jonathan Barbosa to maneuver through the defense. After 65 minutes of play, Elite™- FC Galácticos's Josué Quintal made it 6-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Mike Debruyne was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Victorien Favrot had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Eric Donnarumma made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bertrand Requier in the 74th minute of play. A collision led to Olympique Salonais getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Terry Ménager hit a great ball. After 79 played minutes Elite™- FC Galácticos got a freekick which was hit by Raphael de Brito. After a defensive mix-up in Olympique Salonais's zone, Jonas Abreu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mike Debruyne came out of the goal and Jonas Abreu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Josué Quintal took the ball and in the 81 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Mike Debruyne. Mike Debruyne dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 7-0. Bertrand Requier charged in rather forcefully in the 90th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Bertrand Requier the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Elite™- FC Galácticos booed when Olympique Salonais was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bertrand Requier didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 93rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Elite™- FC Galácticos's goalkeeper Eric Donnarumma, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Elite™- FC Galácticos's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
