After a rather tough play, MCB Timisoara 1921 BTV's Dan Stelaru got a free kick in the 3rd minute. In the 6th minute, Dan Stelaru made a precise shot to the right of Nils-Erik Lövkvist. Étoile Sportive Du Sahel's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Dan Stelaru might have been able to make a better finish in the 10th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Nils-Erik Lövkvist. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Dan Stelaru ran back to his position shaking his head. Nils-Erik Lövkvist showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dan Stelaru in the 10th minute of the match. In the 19th match minute, MCB Timisoara 1921 BTV was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Manuel Cozorici to maneuver through the defense. 21 minutes into the game, Sebastian Bergsten threw the ball into play from the sideline. MCB Timisoara 1921 BTV's Liviu Mincu quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. When Dan Stelaru came up free with the goalie in the 25th minute, the MCB Timisoara 1921 BTV fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dan Stelaru couldn't finish the play. The audience was convinced that Dan Stelaru's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Nils-Erik Lövkvist was relentless in the 26th minute of the game. Dan Stelaru fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nils-Erik Lövkvist having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Gigel Postolache during the 30th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 30 played minutes MCB Timisoara 1921 BTV got a freekick which was hit by Gigel Postolache. In the 34th minute of the match MCB Timisoara 1921 BTV got a corner. Étoile Sportive Du Sahel's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Nicolae Panciu ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Étoile Sportive Du Sahel's goalie and right to Nicolae Pricop. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Étoile Sportive Du Sahel's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Dan Stelaru blasted a shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Nils-Erik Lövkvist having to make a save. Étoile Sportive Du Sahel's Nils-Erik Lövkvist played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dan Stelaru in the 42nd minute of play. Gigel Postolache received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Nils-Erik Lövkvist tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Étoile Sportive Du Sahel's Nils-Erik Lövkvist played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dan Stelaru in the 45th minute of play. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Dan Stelaru to make the kick off. MCB Timisoara 1921 BTV's Dan Stelaru got a good chance for a goal in the 54th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 56 played minutes MCB Timisoara 1921 BTV got a freekick which was hit by Dan Stelaru. Nils-Erik Lövkvist took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gigel Postolache, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The corner led MCB Timisoara 1921 BTV's Nicolae Panciu to fire away a dangerous shot which Nils-Erik Lövkvist despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. MCB Timisoara 1921 BTV's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Nicolae Panciu in the 66th minute. MCB Timisoara 1921 BTV's Cosmin Mușetescu was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Nils-Erik Lövkvist in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Dan Stelaru's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Nils-Erik Lövkvist read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 68th minute of play. Thanks to some nice moves Dan Stelaru could shoot a difficult shot in the 71st minute, which Nils-Erik Lövkvist however easily saved by the left post. Nils-Erik Lövkvist was a little too slow when Dan Stelaru got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 75th minute. The score was now 0-3. When Gigel Postolache came up free with the goalie in the 78th minute, the MCB Timisoara 1921 BTV fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gigel Postolache couldn't finish the play. Gigel Postolache sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Dan Stelaru received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Nils-Erik Lövkvist came out and tried to block the shot, but Dan Stelaru slotted it home off the left post making it 0-4 in the 84th minute. Dan Stelaru's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Nils-Erik Lövkvist read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 90th minute of play. In the 94th minute, Dan Stelaru fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. If Gigel Postolache had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. MCB Timisoara 1921 BTV played a much better game than Étoile Sportive Du Sahel and deserved their victory. The Étoile Sportive Du Sahel players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
