Spectators: 170 (Terracing: 128, Seating: 39, VIP seats: 3) Balus Treter's Alois Ritschel started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 4 minutes into the game, Criciúma Esporte Clube's Ciro Fortes nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Matthias Merk made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. If Ciro Fortes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Matthias Merk showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ciro Fortes in the 11th minute of the match. Balus Treter's Matthias Merk played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Berdaitz Osorio in the 12th minute of play. 13 minutes into the match, Balus Treter's goal looked a bit too open when Ciro Fortes came free, but Matthias Merk reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 18th minute, Fortun Caseres managed to get in a good position for a shot. Criciúma Esporte Clube's supporters rose to their feet, but Fortun Caseres was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Matthias Merk breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Berdaitz Osorio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Edmund Wildemann received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Tiburcio Haces tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 27 played minutes Criciúma Esporte Clube got a freekick which was hit by Fortun Caseres. Ciro Fortes's late challenge caught a Balus Treter's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ciro Fortes helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Criciúma Esporte Clube getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Ciro Fortes hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Berdaitz Osorio in the 35th minute of play forced Balus Treter's goalkeeper Matthias Merk to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Damien Schlesinger's late challenge caught a Criciúma Esporte Clube's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Damien Schlesinger helped the player get up and apologised. After 37 played minutes Balus Treter got a freekick which was hit by Damien Schlesinger. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ciro Fortes in the 38th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Matthias Merk saved Balus Treter from getting behind. After 39 minutes Balus Treter's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Fortun Caseres who took care of the corner kick. 43 minutes into the match, Balus Treter's goal looked a bit too open when Berdaitz Osorio came free, but Matthias Merk reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Matthias Merk took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ciro Fortes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 47th minute, Tim Noll hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After the first half Criciúma Esporte Clube were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The crowd rose to their feet as Ciro Fortes kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Matthias Merk. That made the score 0-2 in the 53 minute of play. After 57 played minutes Balus Treter got a freekick which was hit by Ekpenyong Vogler. Ciro Fortes struck a weak shot in the 58th minute. Matthias Merk didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Criciúma Esporte Clube. After 61 played minutes Criciúma Esporte Clube got a freekick which was hit by Rami Arecha. In the 64th match minute, Criciúma Esporte Clube was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ciro Fortes to maneuver through the defense. Tiburcio Haces showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alois Ritschel in the 65th minute of the match. In the 66th match minute, Balus Treter was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ekpenyong Vogler to maneuver through the defense. After 69 played minutes Balus Treter got a freekick which was hit by Gerd Schlüter. The long shot by Rami Arecha in the 72nd minute really tested Matthias Merk's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Armando Iturburu charged in rather forcefully in the 73rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Armando Iturburu the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Armando Iturburu hit a great freekick 74 minutes into the match. Matthias Merk made a fantastic save in the 79th minute, when Berdaitz Osorio sent off a good shot on target. Balus Treter's Matthias Merk proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 79th minute of the match, managed to save Balus Treter from getting a goal against them. After a rather tough play, Criciúma Esporte Clube's Fortun Caseres got a free kick in the 83rd minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ciro Fortes got free with Matthias Merk in the 85th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Matthias Merk took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rami Arecha, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ciro Fortes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 88th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 95th match minute, Criciúma Esporte Clube was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Armando Iturburu to maneuver through the defense. In the 96th minute of the match Damien Schlesinger shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Tiburcio Haces showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Criciúma Esporte Clube's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
