The referee showed Paulus Schommer the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 6th minute, Paulus Schommer hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 7 played minutes Balus Treter got a freekick which was hit by Gerd Schlüter. Aristides Avellaneda struck a weak shot in the 14th minute. Matthias Merk didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Kaplan. Balus Treter's Edmund Wildemann got a good chance for a goal in the 16th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Matthias Merk made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lucio Soin in the 19th minute of play. When Gerd Schlüter was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 21 minutes had been played. Gerd Schlüter hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Evaristo Gabino in the 22nd minute of play forced Balus Treter's goalkeeper Matthias Merk to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 35th minute, Lucio Soin ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Matthias Merk was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. Ekpenyong Vogler's late challenge caught a Kaplan's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ekpenyong Vogler helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Balus Treter getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Ekpenyong Vogler hit a great ball. Matthias Merk showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Angel Calisto, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. When Ekpenyong Vogler was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 47 minutes had been played. In the 48th minute, Ekpenyong Vogler hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Edmund Wildemann made a kick off. Edmund Wildemann received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. René Higuita tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Edmund Wildemann fell near the penalty area in the 59th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Balus Treter's protests and gave Edmund Wildemann a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Balus Treter getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Edmund Wildemann hit a great ball. The supporters of Kaplan booed when Balus Treter was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tim Noll didn't get a good kick on the ball. Matthias Merk took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lucio Soin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 69 minutes into the game, Lucio Soin recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Matthias Merk. Lucio Soin showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-3. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Alois Ritschel during the 76th minute. In the 76th match minute, Balus Treter was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alois Ritschel to maneuver through the defense. 78 minutes into the match, Balus Treter's goal looked a bit too open when Lucio Soin came free, but Matthias Merk reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Matthias Merk made a fantastic save in the 81st minute, when Angel Calisto sent off a good shot on target. Matthias Merk dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-5.
