In the 2nd minute Avraam Stavropodis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nils Van De Wiele saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of VC zoetwater booed when Trifillia.FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Makis Tsipas didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thalis Pirimachos kicked well hit freekick during the 6th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tasos Spiliopoulos in the 18th minute of play forced VC zoetwater's goalkeeper Nils Van De Wiele to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 19 minutes, Cedric Van Meerbeec mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the VC zoetwater and the Trifillia.FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, VC zoetwater's Cedric Van Meerbeec got a free kick in the 19th minute. Nils Van De Wiele showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Makis Tsipas in the 21st minute of the match. The supporters of Trifillia.FC booed when VC zoetwater was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Albert Depauw didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Makis Tsipas in the 35th minute of play forced VC zoetwater's goalkeeper Nils Van De Wiele to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ricky Meijers scored 0-1 in the 40th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Christos Agathoulis, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. If Martial De Vriendt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After the first half VC zoetwater were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Makis Tsipas to make the kick off. Nils Van De Wiele took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Makis Tsipas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Christos Agathoulis made an important save on a dangerous shot by Martial De Vriendt in the 56th minute. In the 57th minute Martial De Vriendt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Christos Agathoulis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With an all-out effort, VC zoetwater's Christos Agathoulis threw himself towards the right post 60 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Martial De Vriendt, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Ricky Meijers's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Christos Agathoulis firmly grabbed it by the left post. If Tasos Spiliopoulos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 66 minutes of play VC zoetwater's Cedric Van Meerbeec was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. After 67 played minutes VC zoetwater got a freekick which was hit by Cedric Van Meerbeec. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 95th minute, Sakis Sardelis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. VC zoetwater had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
