Spectators: 930 (Terracing: 698, Seating: 214, VIP seats: 18) Roy Huston made the kick off and thus started the match. The supporters of Ballet Azul booed when C. A. Independiente was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Julian Dillard didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 14th minute of the match Ballet Azul got a corner. C. A. Independiente's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Loreno Deves ran over to the corner to take the kick. It was a well-played corner which Xulián Mancilla managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Miguel Hernánde Tellez in the 20th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Cristobal Fox prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 23 played minutes C. A. Independiente got a freekick which was hit by Brady Hooks. After a defensive mix-up in C. A. Independiente's zone, Juan Alfonso Cortazar stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cristobal Fox came out of the goal and Juan Alfonso Cortazar tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 25th minute, Miguel Hernánde Tellez reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Cristobal Fox. The goal made the score 1-0. Cristobal Fox stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Juan Alfonso Cortazar's shot from short distance in the 29th minute. After 33 played minutes C. A. Independiente got a freekick which was hit by Brady Hooks. The referee felt a red card was in order, 40 minutes into the game, when Rafael Flynn put in a rough tackle. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 40th minute of the game. One of C. A. Independiente:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Ballet Azul:s goal. Cristobal Fox had in the 43rdth minute some difficulties stopping Loreno Deves's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

Cristobal Fox made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Miguel Hernánde Tellez in the 52nd minute of play. After having played for 55 minutes, Ferrán Sarratea managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ballet Azul's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ferrán Sarratea was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 57 minutes of play, C. A. Independiente's Roy Huston made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Alvino Klein was left in no man's land by his defense there! Cristobal Fox showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Juan Alfonso Villagrán in the 64th minute of the match. A collision led to C. A. Independiente getting a freekick after 65 minutes play. Weldon Morrow hit a great ball. Brady Hooks's late challenge caught a Ballet Azul's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Brady Hooks helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, C. A. Independiente's Brady Hooks got a free kick in the 68th minute. 81 minutes into the match, C. A. Independiente's goal looked a bit too open when Juan Alfonso Cortazar came free, but Cristobal Fox reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Miguel Hernánde Tellez in the 86th minute of play forced C. A. Independiente's goalkeeper Cristobal Fox to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Ballet Azul getting a freekick after 88 minutes play. Reynaldo Farren hit a great ball. Loreno Deves hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match. In the 92nd minute, Brady Hooks hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Juan Alfonso Cortazar took the ball and in the 93 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Cristobal Fox. Cristobal Fox dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-1. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Ballet Azul fans cheered their team off the field, for while C. A. Independiente had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
