After a rather tough play, MZ Fénix's Aldaír Figueiredo got a free kick in the 12th minute. In the 16th minute, Vytenis Grabauskas made a precise shot to the right of Zarco Bandeira. MZ Fénix's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. Edmundas Mališauskas came out of the goal in the 19th minute to try and stop a shot by MZ Fénix's Vítor Severiano. But to his dismay, Vítor Severiano quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. MZ Fénix's Afonso Medeiros got a good chance for a goal in the 33rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Žygimantas Karanauskas during the 34th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Žygimantas Karanauskas hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. FC Alytus United's Edmundas Mališauskas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vítor Severiano in the 35th minute of play. Edmundas Mališauskas stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Vítor Severiano's shot from short distance in the 40th minute. In the 45th minute Reginaldo Moreira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edmundas Mališauskas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Vítor Severiano made a kick off. Edmundas Mališauskas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vítor Severiano, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. Edmundas Mališauskas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 68 minutes into the match, MZ Fénix's goal looked a bit too open when Eitautas Tomkus came free, but Zarco Bandeira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Vítor Severiano's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Edmundas Mališauskas read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 70th minute of play. After some careless play in the FC Alytus United defense, Aldaír Figueiredo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Edmundas Mališauskas. The FC Alytus United fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Edmundas Mališauskas should have stopped the shot. If Eitautas Tomkus had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Vytenis Grabauskas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
