The audience was convinced that Pierre-Loup Guérinet's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ike Schmeichel was relentless in the 13th minute of the game. Lucrețiu Culiță's late challenge caught a Lunar Park's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Olimpiu Oloieru's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Calvin Miel read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 27th minute of play. The supporters of F.C. YKE booed when Lunar Park was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sam Brot didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Sam Brot came up free with the goalie in the 46th minute, the Lunar Park fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sam Brot couldn't finish the play. Ike Schmeichel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pierre-Loup Guérinet, who was totally free with the ball in the 48th minute. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Pierre-Loup Guérinet to make the kick off. Nicolae Stanciu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Calvin Miel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. YKE's Cazimir Puișoru got a free kick in the 75th minute. After recieving a nice pass, Lunar Park's Adil Parisot tried to score from far away in the 76th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Calvin Miel made an important save on a dangerous shot by Olimpiu Oloieru in the 80th minute. The supporters of Lunar Park booed when F.C. YKE was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nicolae Badea didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Lunar Park's Gilbert Labrousse got a free kick in the 85th minute. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 89th minute of the game. One of F.C. YKE:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Lunar Park:s goal. Ronald Jeanne sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Ike Schmeichel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pierre-Loup Guérinet in the 95th minute of play. Calvin Miel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Olimpiu Oloieru in the 98th minute of the match. The F.C. YKE players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
