La Pointe Courte's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dominique Virapin was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. União Sport Clube Paredes's Guilherme Tavares played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Thibaut Mazieres in the 17th minute of play. In the 18th match minute, União Sport Clube Paredes was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ruud Gullit to maneuver through the defense. Sabri Fouquet took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tarcísio Vilar, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Sabri Fouquet made a fantastic save in the 28th minute, when Micael Casado sent off a good shot on target. Thibaut Mazieres received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Guilherme Tavares tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 36 minutes into the match, Tarcísio Vilar had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Sabri Fouquet. La Pointe Courte's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Tarcísio Vilar was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. Sabri Fouquet took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ruud Gullit, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the match had gone on for 45 minutes, Micael Casado took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for Sabri Fouquet to make any attempt to save it.

After some careless play in the La Pointe Courte defense, Micael Casado kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Sabri Fouquet. The La Pointe Courte fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Sabri Fouquet should have stopped the shot. Sabri Fouquet came out of the goal in the 57th minute to try and stop a shot by União Sport Clube Paredes's Tarcísio Vilar. But to his dismay, Tarcísio Vilar quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-0. 63 minutes into the match, União Sport Clube Paredes's goalkeeper Guilherme Tavares had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Thibaut Mazieres. Ruud Gullit fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sabri Fouquet having to interfere. In the 67th minute Ruud Gullit shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sabri Fouquet saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Julião Prates during the 68th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, União Sport Clube Paredes's Julião Prates got a free kick in the 68th minute. After a defensive mix-up in União Sport Clube Paredes's zone, Thibaut Mazieres stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Guilherme Tavares came out of the goal and Thibaut Mazieres tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. União Sport Clube Paredes's Guilherme Tavares played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dominique Virapin in the 74th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ruud Gullit in the 82nd minute of play forced La Pointe Courte's goalkeeper Sabri Fouquet to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sabri Fouquet made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Micael Casado in the 92nd minute of play. In the 96th minute, Thibaut Mazieres got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. La Pointe Courte's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
