Olívio Sanches was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Renato Abreu kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. Olívio Sanches came out of the goal in the 19th minute to try and stop a shot by Austral FC's Marcones Viesca. But to his dismay, Marcones Viesca quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Bernardo Abaurre hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. Olívio Sanches didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Igor Messia went, in the 29th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. The audience thought a goal was coming when Renato de Queiroz got free with Quexal Raigal in the 43rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The Carrossel Caipira players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Austral FC were winning 0-3.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Igor Messia to make the kick off. Olavo Paiva received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Quexal Raigal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Quexal Raigal took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Paulão Veiga, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Austral FC booed when Carrossel Caipira was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luizão Schmidt didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 58th minute, Xabat Vivera hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 60th minute, Olavo Paiva ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Quexal Raigal was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-3. When Renato de Queiroz fell near the penalty area in the 66th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Carrossel Caipira's protests and gave Renato de Queiroz a yellow card for diving instead. In the 66th minute, Renato de Queiroz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience thought a goal was coming when Igor Messia got free with Olívio Sanches in the 70th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 70 played minutes Carrossel Caipira got a freekick which was hit by Júlio Brodel. In the 73rd minute, Igor Messia ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Olívio Sanches was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-4. Olavo Paiva sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The crowd rose to their feet as Austral FC's Hanni Borrego slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Olívio Sanches. That made the score 1-5 after 79 minutes of play. Quexal Raigal took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Paulão Veiga, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Bernardo Abaurre during the 85th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 89th minute, Olavo Paiva left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Carrossel Caipira fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-5. Austral FC played a much better game than Carrossel Caipira and deserved their victory. The Carrossel Caipira players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
