After 4 played minutes Brugge United got a freekick which was hit by Camiel Hennes. After 8 minutes, Stefan Lambrechs mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Fauna Utd and the Brugge United players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Fauna Utd getting a freekick after 8 minutes play. Stefan Lambrechs hit a great ball. In the 11th match minute, Fauna Utd was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Giles Verduin to maneuver through the defense. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jan Ceusters got free with Arne Van Brusselen in the 12th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Arne Van Brusselen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Christian Meys, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. Yannis Candries scored 0-1 in the 15th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Steff Caers, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 22nd minute Brian Weijnants shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arne Van Brusselen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Arne Van Brusselen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Brian Weijnants, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Christian Meys kicked well hit freekick during the 29th minute of the match. Mickael Theunis hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. 36 minutes into the game, Mickael Theunis was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Brugge United's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Fauna Utd the free kick. In the 36th minute, Mickael Theunis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 37th minute, Stefan Lambrechs managed to get in a good position for a shot. Fauna Utd's supporters rose to their feet, but Stefan Lambrechs was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Steff Caers breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 40th minute, Marnix Mons hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Arne Van Brusselen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jan Ceusters in the 42nd minute of play. A collision led to Fauna Utd getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Stefan Lambrechs hit a great ball. Arne Van Brusselen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Brian Weijnants in the 46th minute of the match. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Henri-Xavier Justus made the kick off in the second half. When Sebastian Sevenans fell near the penalty area in the 54th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Brugge United's protests and gave Sebastian Sevenans a yellow card for diving instead. Sebastian Sevenans got his second yellow card in the match during the 58th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. The supporters of Fauna Utd booed when Brugge United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sebastian Sevenans didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 59th minute, Marnix Mons got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 62 minutes into the match, Brugge United's goalkeeper Steff Caers had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Yannis Candries. Arne Van Brusselen came out of the goal in the 64th minute to try and stop a shot by Brugge United's Christian Meys. But to his dismay, Christian Meys quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. 72 minutes into the match, Lennert Van Meerbeec had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Arne Van Brusselen. Fauna Utd's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Lennert Van Meerbeec was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Brian Weijnants during the 75th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 75th match minute, Brugge United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Brian Weijnants to maneuver through the defense. Marnix Mons could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 77th minute of the match, but Steff Caers made a huge save. After having played for 80 minutes, Christian Meys managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Brugge United's supporters crossed their fingers, but Christian Meys was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Christian Meys fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arne Van Brusselen having to interfere. In the 87th minute, Fauna Utd's Giles Verduin dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-2. Fauna Utd's Arne Van Brusselen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Christian Meys in the 95th minute of play.
