An unexpectedly hard shot by Dumitru Opincaru in the 11th minute of play forced Herblay's goalkeeper Sabri Letailleur to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 14th minute Christophe Beaulieu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eugen Jupân saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sabri Letailleur was out of position in the 19 minute of play, and Leonard Demian capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Leonard Demian really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. Eugen Jupân took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Christophe Beaulieu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 25 minutes into the match, DINAMO's goal looked a bit too open when Batiste Botella came free, but Eugen Jupân reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 26 minutes, Hamza Rouch mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Herblay and the DINAMO players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 26th match minute, Herblay was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hamza Rouch to maneuver through the defense. It was a penalty for Herblay! When the match had been going on for 36 minutes, DINAMO's Maxim Fința got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Sabri Letailleur. If Isaltino Gaúcho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 40th minute, Basarab Zburliş hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Eugen Jupân showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Batiste Botella, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. Tom Colle received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Eugen Jupân tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

With his leg Eugen Jupân managed to avoid a goal in the 55thth minute, when Herblay's Batiste Botella fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. If Ryszard Borcz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 65th minute, Christophe Beaulieu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 73 minutes into the match, Roman Ferenc dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Eugen Jupân, 2-1. 77 minutes into the match, Batiste Botella dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Eugen Jupân, 2-2. The audience thought a goal was coming when Michaël Seguela got free with Eugen Jupân in the 82nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When the match had gone on for 85 minutes, Batiste Botella took a quick shot and it went in 2-3 without a chance for Eugen Jupân to make any attempt to save it. Batiste Botella received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Eugen Jupân came out and tried to block the shot, but Batiste Botella slotted it home off the left post making it 2-4 in the 91st minute. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Herblay eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
