The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gustavo Erruki in the 2nd minute of play forced Vykans Vikingar's goalkeeper Mats Sundberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mats Sundberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Natalio Malvin in the 4th minute of play. Mats Sundberg came out of the goal in the 4th minute to try and stop a shot by Cavallino Rampante II's Natalio Malvin. But to his dismay, Natalio Malvin quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Mats Sundberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jairo Izotz in the 7th minute of play. 7 minutes into the game, Cavallino Rampante II's Jairo Izotz nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Mats Sundberg made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. After 12 played minutes Vykans Vikingar got a freekick which was hit by Mathias Källberg. Fredrik Molander charged in rather forcefully in the 15th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Fredrik Molander the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Vykans Vikingar's Fredrik Molander got a free kick in the 15th minute. If Abelardo Tello had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Mats Sundberg took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jairo Izotz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Wei Chang Peng hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. Mats Sundberg showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Natalio Malvin in the 20th minute of the match. Mats Sundberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gustavo Erruki in the 21st minute of play. 22 minutes into the match, Vykans Vikingar's goal looked a bit too open when Natalio Malvin came free, but Mats Sundberg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ingvar Sjögren in the 24th minute of play forced Cavallino Rampante II's goalkeeper Robert Abbondanzieri to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 24th minute, Damian Noe hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 26th minute, Erik Ring hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 27th minute Jairo Izotz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mats Sundberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Robert Abbondanzieri showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Torbjörn Ekblom, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. Mats Sundberg showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Natalio Malvin in the 29th minute of the match. Mathias Källberg's late challenge caught a Cavallino Rampante II's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Mathias Källberg helped the player get up and apologised. Mathias Källberg hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. Abelardo Tello recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 31st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 35th minute Gustavo Erruki shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mats Sundberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 37th minute, Natalio Malvin ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Mats Sundberg was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. Gustavo Erruki fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mats Sundberg having to interfere. With a little luck, Cavallino Rampante II's Robert Abbondanzieri got control of the ball when Torbjörn Ekblom tried to sneak it across the goal line. Vykans Vikingar's Mats Sundberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Natalio Malvin in the 45th minute of play. A collision led to Vykans Vikingar getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Kim Kruse hit a great ball. Abelardo Tello took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 47th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Mats Sundberg. Vykans Vikingar's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After the first half Cavallino Rampante II were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
After some careless play in the Vykans Vikingar defense, Natalio Malvin kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Mats Sundberg. The Vykans Vikingar fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Mats Sundberg should have stopped the shot. With an all-out effort, Cavallino Rampante II's Mats Sundberg threw himself towards the right post 60 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Jairo Izotz, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Mats Sundberg stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jairo Izotz's shot from short distance in the 61st minute. With 63 minutes on the clock, Abelardo Tello commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. In a very dangerous position, a player in Cavallino Rampante II fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 62nd minute. Penalty! Robert Abbondanzieri had in the 65thth minute some difficulties stopping Fabian Söderman's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. A collision led to Vykans Vikingar getting a freekick after 66 minutes play. Fredrik Molander hit a great ball. A hard shot 67 in the game by Gustavo Erruki from a close distance when the talented Mats Sundberg managed to make a qualified save. Vykans Vikingar's players were relieved. The supporters of Vykans Vikingar booed when Cavallino Rampante II was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Horacio Lapurdi didn't get a good kick on the ball. Robert Abbondanzieri made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fabian Söderman in the 78th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Natalio Malvin got free with Mats Sundberg in the 84th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Mats Sundberg didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Natalio Malvin went, in the 89th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-5 was the resulting score. In the 93rd match minute, Cavallino Rampante II was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Damian Noe to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Cavallino Rampante II's Natalio Malvin got a free kick in the 95th minute. In the 97th minute, Per-Åke Nyström got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Cavallino Rampante II played a much better game than Vykans Vikingar and deserved their victory. The Vykans Vikingar players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
