Nichlas Vesterdahl showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Arvid Carlsson, who was totally free with the ball in the 3rd minute. Linköpings AIK's Jimmy Olsson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rene Rostholm in the 9th minute of play. Nichlas Vesterdahl made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arvid Carlsson in the 11th minute of play. In the 12th minute, Rene Rostholm got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arvid Carlsson in the 13th minute of play forced Randers A.F.C.'s goalkeeper Nichlas Vesterdahl to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 15th minute Arvid Carlsson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nichlas Vesterdahl saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Linköpings AIK's Jimmy Olsson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rene Rostholm in the 17th minute of play. Nichlas Vesterdahl showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Arvid Carlsson in the 21st minute of the match. 29 minutes into the match, Linköpings AIK's goal looked a bit too open when Rene Rostholm came free, but Jimmy Olsson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rene Rostholm could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 30th minute of the match, but Jimmy Olsson made a huge save. Fabrício Castanheira made in the 32nd minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Willy Witarya. Børge Buhr received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Jimmy Olsson came out and tried to block the shot, but Børge Buhr slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 34th minute. Randers A.F.C.'s Rene Rostholm got a good chance for a goal in the 36th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Rene Rostholm recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 40th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Fabrício Castanheira hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. Linköpings AIK were awarded a corner in the 48th minute after Randers A.F.C.'s defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Willy Witarya took the corner. Willy Witarya made a great header on Linköpings AIK's corner, it was just that Randers A.F.C.'s Nichlas Vesterdahl managed to reach the ball for a save.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Rene Rostholm made a kick off. In the 58th match minute, Linköpings AIK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Albin Nilsson to maneuver through the defense. Jimmy Olsson stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Rene Rostholm's shot from short distance in the 59th minute. Jimmy Olsson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rene Rostholm in the 61st minute of play. In the 64thth minute of the game Julien Staffelbach who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Randers A.F.C.'s Nichlas Vesterdahl was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Jimmy Olsson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rene Rostholm, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
