The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Bourns Molloy kicked well hit freekick during the 2nd minute of the match. 3 minutes into the match, Ballyboughal's goal looked a bit too open when Beolagh Harkin came free, but Barclay Ferguson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 4th minute, Royan Caffey hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Ballyboughal booed when Coolnacon FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Derin McGlenn didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ballyboughal's Torran McPaul got a good chance for a goal in the 8th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Barclay Ferguson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Derin McGlenn in the 11th minute of play. Keefe Martyn took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Torran McPaul, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 17th minute Beolagh Harkin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Barclay Ferguson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Barclay Ferguson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Derin McGlenn in the 19th minute of the match. 21 minutes into the match, Coolnacon FC's goal looked a bit too open when Brennen Moran came free, but Keefe Martyn reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 21 minutes, Derin McGlenn mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Coolnacon FC and the Ballyboughal players grew even worse after the yellow card. Derin McGlenn hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. After 23 played minutes Ballyboughal got a freekick which was hit by Bevin Molloy. The supporters of Coolnacon FC booed when Ballyboughal was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Royan Caffey didn't get a good kick on the ball. Beolagh Harkin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Brennen Moran scored 0-1 in the 29th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Keefe Martyn, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After having played for 33 minutes, Torran McPaul managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ballyboughal's supporters crossed their fingers, but Torran McPaul was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Beolagh Harkin took the ball and in the 36 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Barclay Ferguson. Barclay Ferguson dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. Barclay Ferguson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Derin McGlenn in the 41st minute of play. If Torran McPaul had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 47th minute, Torran McPaul made a precise shot to the right of Keefe Martyn. Coolnacon FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

Keefe Martyn was out of position in the 55 minute of play, and Brennen Moran capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Brennen Moran really showed his touch with that goal: 1-3. After 59 minutes of play, Coolnacon FC's Beolagh Harkin made it 2-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Barclay Ferguson was left in no man's land by his defense there! 64 minutes into the game, Eoin Ferguson was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ballyboughal's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Coolnacon FC the free kick. The supporters of Coolnacon FC booed when Ballyboughal was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eoin Ferguson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Barclay Ferguson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Derin McGlenn in the 73rd minute of play. If Brennen Moran had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 84 minutes into the match, Coolnacon FC's goal looked a bit too open when Brennen Moran came free, but Keefe Martyn reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 90 played minutes Ballyboughal got a freekick which was hit by Royan Caffey. Torran McPaul who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 95thth minute tested the skills of Keefe Martyn when he managed to save the team from getting behind.
