Guto Gomes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Marquinhos Cardoso fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dário Palmeira having to interfere. After 36 played minutes Antinha EC got a freekick which was hit by Cristian de Toledo. Chicão Novaes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Guto Gomes, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. 40 minutes into the match, Antinha EC's goalkeeper Chicão Novaes had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Manfredo Nóbrega. In the 41st minute, Guto Gomes fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Chicão Novaes, passed just outside the right post. MaconhaFC's Guto Gomes got a good chance for a goal in the 45th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Guto Gomes to strike the kick off in the second half. Antinha EC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Marquinhos Cardoso was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some careless play in the Antinha EC defense, Guto Gomes kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Chicão Novaes. The Antinha EC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Chicão Novaes should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Manfredo Nóbrega in the 88th minute of play forced Antinha EC's goalkeeper Chicão Novaes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Marquinhos Cardoso received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Dário Palmeira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 97 minutes into the game, MaconhaFC's Guto Gomes nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Chicão Novaes made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. Antinha EC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
