David Banegas could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 5th minute of the match, but Jake Leonard made a huge save. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Andrew Dalli in the 8th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jake Leonard saved WINNING ELEVEN from getting behind. If Fred Nilsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Jorge Armani showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fred Nilsson in the 11th minute of the match. Jorge Armani showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fred Nilsson, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Fred Nilsson in the 14th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jorge Armani prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 15 minutes into the match, WINNING ELEVEN's Fred Nilsson sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jorge Armani narrowly saved just below the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eloy Calvino in the 17th minute of play forced WINNING ELEVEN's goalkeeper Jake Leonard to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When WINNING ELEVEN's Fred Nilsson in the 23rd minute got a chance for a shot 23rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. In the 30th minute David Banegas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jake Leonard saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jake Leonard made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Andrew Dalli in the 34th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Fred Nilsson's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jorge Armani was relentless in the 35th minute of the game. The corner ended in Patricio Ostadar almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Esmeralda AFC's Jorge Armani did a great save. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Fred Nilsson stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Fred Nilsson blasted a shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jorge Armani having to make a save. The WINNING ELEVEN fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jake Leonard should have stopped the shot. Jorge Armani stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Fred Nilsson's shot from short distance in the 89th minute. Fred Nilsson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Jorge Armani tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
