Hudiksvalls Sjöbodar BK's Aurel Crivoi proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 11th minute of the match, managed to save Hudiksvalls Sjöbodar BK from getting a goal against them. In the 12th minute of the match Szombathely Squirrels got a corner. Hudiksvalls Sjöbodar BK's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Bai Jun Chong ran over to the corner to take the kick. Arnold Szuper took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hector Hugo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Arnold Szuper showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hector Hugo, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. Hector Hugo might have been able to make a better finish in the 30th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Arnold Szuper. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Hector Hugo ran back to his position shaking his head. Arnold Szuper showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hector Hugo in the 30th minute of the match. If Hector Hugo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Arnold Szuper took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hector Hugo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 37th minute Hector Hugo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arnold Szuper saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience was convinced that Hector Hugo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Arnold Szuper was relentless in the 41st minute of the game. 44 minutes into the match, Hector Hugo notched a goal, 1-3, to the right of Szombathely Squirrels's Arnold Szuper. Arnold Szuper was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After having played for 47 minutes, Bai Jun Chong managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Szombathely Squirrels's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bai Jun Chong was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After the first half Hudiksvalls Sjöbodar BK were leading 1-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

In the 55th minute Tivadar Demeter shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aurel Crivoi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Hector Hugo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Arnold Szuper read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 57th minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Hudiksvalls Sjöbodar BK's Hector Hugo slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Arnold Szuper. That made the score 1-4 after 60 minutes of play. Hudiksvalls Sjöbodar BK's Bernt Offendahl was substituted for Alfred Mossberg. Szombathely Squirrels's Lei Jian Xiong was substituted for Tivadar Demeter. If Lei Jian Xiong had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead.
