But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Emil Chwalkiewicz couldn't finish the play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Mugur Chiriac in the 39th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Karl Björk saved BraveHearts United from getting behind. The Club Atlético Atlanta fans' excitement grew in the 39th match minute when Club Atlético Atlanta's Mugur Chiriac looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Angelino Corderro was shown his second yellow card after 41 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. The audience was convinced that Mugur Chiriac's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Karl Björk was relentless in the 45th minute of the game. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

In the 91st minute Mugur Chiriac shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Karl Björk saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. BraveHearts United's Karl Björk played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mugur Chiriac in the 92nd minute of play. When Sverker Rosén came up free with the goalie in the 93rd minute, the BraveHearts United fans jumped to their feet. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Club Atlético Atlanta would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
