The supporters of Cabildo Y La Campana booed when Sertanejo SS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marcelinho Vieira didn't get a good kick on the ball. Toribio Ponce who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 18thth minute tested the skills of Cícero de Salles when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Cícero de Salles made a fantastic save in the 19th minute, when Toribio Ponce sent off a good shot on target. In the 21st minute, Reinaldo Perez hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Cícero de Salles showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Toribio Ponce in the 22nd minute of the match. Cabildo Y La Campana's Naldo Martin got a good chance for a goal in the 30th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Alejandro Castaño in the 31st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Cícero de Salles prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Cícero de Salles came out of the goal and Ambrosio Bencoiechea tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 42nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Cabildo Y La Campana's goalkeeper Jesús Gonzáles, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Alejandro Castaño might have been able to make a better finish in the 44th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Cícero de Salles. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Alejandro Castaño ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 47th minute, Alejandro Castaño reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Cícero de Salles. The goal made the score 1-0. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.
