Tomé Mota made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rodriguinho Andrade in the 13th minute of play. In the 13thth minute of the game Rodriguinho Andrade who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Agua Santa's Tomé Mota was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Enrique Abreu got free with Silvinho Berger in the 26th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 29th minute Dino Nóbrega shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tomé Mota saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Silvinho Berger made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ernesto Velloso in the 35th minute of play. Silvinho Berger made a fantastic save in the 38th minute, when Enrique Abreu sent off a good shot on target. When Rodriguinho Andrade fell near the penalty area in the 38th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Capivariano F.C.'s protests and gave Rodriguinho Andrade a yellow card for diving instead. After 38 played minutes Capivariano F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Rodriguinho Andrade. Capivariano F.C.'s Dino Nóbrega got a good chance for a goal in the 41st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With a little luck, Capivariano F.C.'s Silvinho Berger got control of the ball when Enrique Abreu tried to sneak it across the goal line. Tomé Mota didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Nestor Dante went, in the 45th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-3.

The wind increased when Frank Rosa made the kick off in the second half. Tomé Mota made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rodriguinho Andrade in the 51st minute of play. Fábio Lopez might have been able to make a better finish in the 59th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Silvinho Berger. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Fábio Lopez ran back to his position shaking his head. Agua Santa's William Luz was substituted for Fábio Lopez. Narciso Pombal lost his temper 66 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. Capivariano F.C.:s Silvinho Berger showed great skill when he stopped Enrique Abreu:s penalty. Rafael Cruz hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. A hard shot by Erivaldo Mineiro from long distance, 70 minutes into the match, got Tomé Mota's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side.
