Pau Lin-Carlos who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 21stth minute tested the skills of Sérgio de Azevedo when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Luisão de Medeiros kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. 25 minutes into the match, Pau Lin-Carlos had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Sérgio de Azevedo. BMB IMOVEIS SC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Pau Lin-Carlos was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Régis Marinho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Antônio Carlos Cavalcante having to interfere. BMB IMOVEIS SC's André Luiz Vides got a good chance for a goal in the 35th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of BMB IMOVEIS SC booed when Palestra do Interior was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nelsinho Marinho didn't get a good kick on the ball. Hélder Melo made in the 42nd minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Dedé Alagoano. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Nelsinho Marinho during the 45th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 45th match minute, Palestra do Interior was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nelsinho Marinho to maneuver through the defense. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

In the 87th minute the ball was on its way in behind BMB IMOVEIS SC's goalkeeper Sérgio de Azevedo, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 89 minutes had been played when some careless play by BMB IMOVEIS SC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Doni Pimenta was slow to take the kick. During this time Palestra do Interior's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Doni Pimenta almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but BMB IMOVEIS SC's Sérgio de Azevedo did a great save. In the 91st minute Nelsinho Marinho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sérgio de Azevedo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 92 played minutes Palestra do Interior got a freekick which was hit by Leonel Marinho. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the BMB IMOVEIS SC players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
