The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 3rd minute Di Yuan Liang shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tomé Mota saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Frank Rosa fell near the penalty area in the 5th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Agua Santa's protests and gave Frank Rosa a yellow card for diving instead. In the 6th match minute, Agua Santa was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Frank Rosa to maneuver through the defense. Di Yuan Liang received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Tomé Mota came out and tried to block the shot, but Di Yuan Liang slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 8th minute. Agua Santa's Frank Rosa got a good chance for a goal in the 11th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 17th match minute, Pombal 2003 F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sebastian Zieba to maneuver through the defense. Tomé Mota made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sebastian Zieba in the 20th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Agua Santa's Ernesto Velloso got a free kick in the 22nd minute. Tomé Mota made a fantastic save in the 24th minute, when Sebastian Zieba sent off a good shot on target. The supporters of Pombal 2003 F.C. booed when Agua Santa was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jânio Arantes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tomé Mota made a fantastic save in the 26th minute, when Hermínio Moraes sent off a good shot on target. In the 29th minute the ball was on its way in behind Pombal 2003 F.C.'s goalkeeper Luiz Fabiano de Lima, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 32nd minute, Pombal 2003 F.C.'s Hermínio Moraes ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Tomé Mota. Tomé Mota yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-0. A collision led to Agua Santa getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. Jânio Arantes hit a great ball. 36 minutes into the match, Agua Santa's goal looked a bit too open when Di Yuan Liang came free, but Tomé Mota reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Luiz Fabiano de Lima took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Enrique Abreu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Di Yuan Liang in the 47th minute of play forced Agua Santa's goalkeeper Tomé Mota to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Frank Rosa to strike the kick off in the second half. Luiz Fabiano de Lima came out of the goal in the 54th minute to try and stop a shot by Agua Santa's Frank Rosa. But to his dismay, Frank Rosa quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. A collision led to Agua Santa getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Eugênio Monteiro hit a great ball. Agua Santa's William Luz was substituted for Fábio Lopez. In the 63rd match minute, Agua Santa was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eugênio Monteiro to maneuver through the defense. Agua Santa's Tomé Mota played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hermínio Moraes in the 64th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Enrique Abreu got free with Luiz Fabiano de Lima in the 67th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Agua Santa's Tomé Mota played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hermínio Moraes in the 68th minute of play. Pombal 2003 F.C. made a substitution. Giovani Furlan replaced Hermínio Moraes. Pombal 2003 F.C.'s attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Giovani Furlan in the 70th minute. The corner led Pombal 2003 F.C.'s Luisito Bordat to fire away a dangerous shot which Tomé Mota despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Giovani Furlan hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. With a little luck, Pombal 2003 F.C.'s Luiz Fabiano de Lima got control of the ball when Enrique Abreu tried to sneak it across the goal line. Agua Santa were awarded a corner in the 82th minute after Pombal 2003 F.C.'s defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Eugênio Monteiro took the corner. After taking down the ball on Agua Santa's corner Eugênio Monteiro fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Luiz Fabiano de Lima quite easily take care of the ball. Tomé Mota made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sebastian Zieba in the 84th minute of play. In the 88th minute Sebastian Zieba shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tomé Mota saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 90th minute Di Yuan Liang shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tomé Mota saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sebastian Zieba charged in rather forcefully in the 95th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Sebastian Zieba the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 95th minute, Sebastian Zieba hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With 97 minutes on the clock, Dalimil Kylar commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. In a very dangerous position, a player in Pombal 2003 F.C. fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 96th minute. Penalty! After 98 minutes Pombal 2003 F.C.'s goalkeeper Luiz Fabiano de Lima managed, with a little bit of luck, save Enrique Abreu's penalty, on his right side after a tricky shot. In the 98th minute, Enrique Abreu left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Agua Santa fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-2.
