When the match had gone on for 19 minutes, João Pirani took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Enrique Padilla to make any attempt to save it. With his leg Enrique Padilla managed to avoid a goal in the 24thth minute, when Vascogoianiense FC's Gilmar Monteiro fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Nelsinho Leite showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Misael Bermudez, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. After 25 minutes of play, Harpurhey's Misael Bermudez made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Nelsinho Leite was left in no man's land by his defense there! Carlos Guevara hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. If Gilmar Monteiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. In the 45thth minute of the game Gilmar Monteiro who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Harpurhey's Enrique Padilla was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 47th minute, Vascogoianiense FC's João Pirani ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Enrique Padilla. Enrique Padilla yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 5-1. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Gilmar Monteiro made the kick off in the second half. After 52 minutes, Carmelo Alas mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Harpurhey and the Vascogoianiense FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After some fancy dribbling in the 59th minute, Jorge Flamenco managed to get in a good position for a shot. Harpurhey's supporters rose to their feet, but Jorge Flamenco was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nelsinho Leite breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Aírton Sousa scored 7-1 in the 62nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Enrique Padilla, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Harpurhey's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After 90 minutes, Gilmar Monteiro made it 9-1 with a short kick to the right side. Harpurhey's Enrique Padilla tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. After 95 minutes of play, Vascogoianiense FC's João Pirani made it 10-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Enrique Padilla was left in no man's land by his defense there! Vascogoianiense FC's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
