The ball went over the crossbar instead. 13 minutes into the match, Hílton Varela notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Chatuba FC's Aníbal Leal. Aníbal Leal was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Casalvasco EC's Luiz Gustavo Motta got a good chance for a goal in the 18th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Hílton Varela received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Aníbal Leal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Casalvasco EC booed when Chatuba FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jânio Galvão didn't get a good kick on the ball. Chatuba FC's Aníbal Leal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hílton Varela in the 28th minute of play. Luiz Gustavo Motta fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aníbal Leal having to interfere. Hílton Varela recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 32nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Aníbal Leal showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hílton Varela, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. The Chatuba FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Casalvasco EC were winning 0-3.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Hílton Varela made a kick off. Hílton Varela recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 52nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Luiz Gustavo Motta came up free with the goalie in the 54th minute, the Casalvasco EC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Luiz Gustavo Motta couldn't finish the play. The supporters of Casalvasco EC booed when Chatuba FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Elivélton Félix didn't get a good kick on the ball. 62 minutes into the match, Casalvasco EC's Jacinto Leme sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Aníbal Leal narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 94th minute, Hudson Damião ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Gildo Bittencourt was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-3. Casalvasco EC's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
