If John Gox had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 12th minute Rogerio Bocos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Amedeo Gentile saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Klimovich Pedronera made a fantastic save in the 13th minute, when Florian Pietrini sent off a good shot on target. John Gox scored 0-1 in the 17th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Amedeo Gentile, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 20th play minute Florian Pietrini came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Klimovich Pedronera. 1-1. 23 minutes into the match, Cuenca FC's Rogerio Bocos sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Amedeo Gentile narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 27 minutes into the match, Rogerio Bocos had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Amedeo Gentile. Monza's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Rogerio Bocos was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. In the 30th match minute, Cuenca FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Edmundo Sorriva to maneuver through the defense. Erick Gonta sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 42 minutes into the match, Monza's goal looked a bit too open when Rogerio Bocos came free, but Amedeo Gentile reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Cuenca FC walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
