After having played for 7 minutes, András Juhász managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Buják's supporters crossed their fingers, but András Juhász was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 9th minute, Tamás Benedek hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Bonito Gol came free with the goalkeeper in the 16th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Mátyás Horváth could save by the left post. In the 18th minute Benito Belmiro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mátyás Horváth saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Bruno Boklund showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from György Gömöri in the 21st minute of the match. Bruno Boklund took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Károly Pölöskei, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 24th minute György Gömöri shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bruno Boklund saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. György Gömöri fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bruno Boklund having to interfere. 30 minutes into the match, Buják's goal looked a bit too open when Ferenc Fülöp came free, but Bruno Boklund reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. György Gömöri sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gelse's Mátyás Horváth proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 35th minute of the match, managed to save Gelse from getting a goal against them. With a little luck, Gelse's Mátyás Horváth got control of the ball when Bonito Gol tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by György Gömöri in the 47th minute of play forced Buják's goalkeeper Bruno Boklund to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

If Lajos Major had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Bruno Boklund was out of position in the 55 minute of play, and György Gömöri capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. György Gömöri really showed his touch with that goal: 0-1. Bruno Boklund stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of György Gömöri's shot from short distance in the 63rd minute. The audience was convinced that Bonito Gol's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Mátyás Horváth was relentless in the 67th minute of the game. Ferenc Fülöp sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bonito Gol in the 75th minute of play forced Gelse's goalkeeper Mátyás Horváth to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Bruno Boklund showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from György Gömöri, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. Mátyás Horváth showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from András Juhász in the 80th minute of the match. Buják's Pál Szokolai was substituted for Bonito Gol. If György Gömöri had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mátyás Horváth made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pál Szokolai in the 96th minute of play. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Gelse walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
