Ernest Ghiciușca came out of the goal and Nicolae Chirnoagă tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 15th minute of the match CBF Csikszereda got a corner. JUVENTUS TORINO's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Nicolae Chirnoagă ran over to the corner to take the kick. Nicolae Chirnoagă made a great header on CBF Csikszereda's corner, it was just that JUVENTUS TORINO's Ernest Ghiciușca managed to reach the ball for a save. In the 19th minute JUVENTUS TORINO were awarded a corner. Petre Alecu went to the cornerflag to take it. JUVENTUS TORINO's Petre Alecu was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Corneliu Giurgiu in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Corneliu Giurgiu made a fantastic save in the 20th minute, when David Mascovescu sent off a good shot on target. After having played for 27 minutes, Petruț Sângeorzan managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. CBF Csikszereda's supporters crossed their fingers, but Petruț Sângeorzan was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Corneliu Giurgiu made a fantastic save in the 31st minute, when David Mascovescu sent off a good shot on target. Ernest Ghiciușca showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Petruț Sângeorzan in the 32nd minute of the match. Valeriu Bârsescu took the ball and in the 37 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ernest Ghiciușca. Ernest Ghiciușca dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Constantin Acalinei hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Petruț Sângeorzan in the 43rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ernest Ghiciușca saved JUVENTUS TORINO from getting behind. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. David Mascovescu was the one to do the kick off. Petruț Sângeorzan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Ernest Ghiciușca tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. David Mascovescu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 57th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Petre Alecu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Corneliu Giurgiu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. JUVENTUS TORINO's David Mascovescu got a good chance for a goal in the 63rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When JUVENTUS TORINO's David Mascovescu in the 68th minute got a chance for a shot 68th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye CBF Csikszereda's goalie prevented a goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 70th minute, Petruț Sângeorzan managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ernest Ghiciușca breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With his leg Ernest Ghiciușca managed to avoid a goal in the 72ndth minute, when CBF Csikszereda's Petruț Sângeorzan fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. 76 minutes into the match, JUVENTUS TORINO's goalkeeper Ernest Ghiciușca had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Petruț Sângeorzan. An unexpectedly hard shot by Petruț Sângeorzan in the 78th minute of play forced JUVENTUS TORINO's goalkeeper Ernest Ghiciușca to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of CBF Csikszereda booed when JUVENTUS TORINO was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Petre Alecu didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 84th minute, Remus Lupșe managed to get in a good position for a shot. CBF Csikszereda's supporters rose to their feet, but Remus Lupșe was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ernest Ghiciușca breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Petre Alecu in the 86th minute of play forced CBF Csikszereda's goalkeeper Corneliu Giurgiu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 86th minute Petre Alecu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Corneliu Giurgiu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
