FC Galaxy's Almir Saldanha proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 12th minute of the match, managed to save FC Galaxy from getting a goal against them. In the 15th minute, Pál Sugár got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 19th minute, Rapid's Pál Sugár ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Almir Saldanha. Almir Saldanha yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. Antal Pádár took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Simon La Rocca, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Sándor Karsai fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Antal Pádár having to interfere. Simon La Rocca took the ball and in the 30 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Antal Pádár. Antal Pádár dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. In the 35th minute Fülöp Kelemen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Antal Pádár saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sándor Karsai in the 38th minute of play forced Rapid's goalkeeper Antal Pádár to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Antal Pádár took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fülöp Kelemen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 47 minutes of play, FC Galaxy's Fülöp Kelemen made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Antal Pádár was left in no man's land by his defense there!

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Fülöp Kelemen was the one to do the kick off. In the 55th minute the ball was on its way in behind FC Galaxy's goalkeeper Almir Saldanha, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Sándor Karsai hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pál Sugár in the 82nd minute of play forced FC Galaxy's goalkeeper Almir Saldanha to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Rapid booed when FC Galaxy was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 84 match minutes in a wonderful position. Simon La Rocca didn't get a good kick on the ball. Almir Saldanha took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pál Sugár, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 86th minute, Sérgio Ávila hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Pál Sugár hit a great freekick 89 minutes into the match. Rapid's Antal Pádár played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fülöp Kelemen in the 90th minute of play. Álmos Csáki struck a weak shot in the 92nd minute. Almir Saldanha didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Rapid. Almir Saldanha showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pál Sugár, who was totally free with the ball in the 93rd minute. In the 97th minute, Sándor Karsai hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The Rapid fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. FC Galaxy were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
