With a little luck, FC RED BUL's József Rigó got control of the ball when Walmir Breckenfeld tried to sneak it across the goal line. Gyál United's attentive Kenyon Lala managed to snatch the ball when Viktor Kassai made a throw-in in the 11th minute of the game. Walmir Breckenfeld scored 1-0 in the 13th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of József Rigó, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Viktor Kassai charged in rather forcefully in the 22nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Viktor Kassai the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to FC RED BUL getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Viktor Kassai hit a great ball. Január Csillag fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without József Rigó having to interfere. 28 minutes into the game, Virgil van Beek threw the ball into play from the sideline. Gyál United's Tito Montaño quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. In the 33rd minute, Walmir Breckenfeld made a precise shot to the right of József Rigó. FC RED BUL's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-0. Konstantinos Kroustallis's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but József Rigó read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 37th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dominik Szoboszlai in the 39th minute of play forced Gyál United's goalkeeper Gyula Grosics to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Deivid Trigo hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Lajos Gerő made the kick off in the second half. Lajos Gerő could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 52nd minute of the match, but Gyula Grosics made a huge save. József Rigó made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Walmir Breckenfeld in the 54th minute of play. Lajos Gerő took the ball and in the 56 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Gyula Grosics. Gyula Grosics dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-1. Gyál United's Kemal Davarcı was substituted for Konstantinos Kroustallis. Dávid Kiprich was extremely unlucky when he, in the 60th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Walmir Breckenfeld's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but József Rigó read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 61st minute of play. Gyál United's Gyula Grosics played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lajos Gerő in the 62nd minute of play. Gyula Grosics made an important save on a dangerous shot by Lajos Gerő in the 64th minute. Walmir Breckenfeld took the ball and in the 65 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised József Rigó. József Rigó dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-1. Gyula Grosics showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vilmos Takács, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. FC RED BUL's József Rigó played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Január Csillag in the 78th minute of play. Walmir Breckenfeld's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but József Rigó read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 79th minute of play. If Dávid Kiprich had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. József Rigó showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Január Csillag in the 82nd minute of the match. The supporters of Gyál United booed when FC RED BUL was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Valdemar Thürmann didn't get a good kick on the ball. 87 minutes in the game Viktor Kassai did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Dominik Szoboszlai. Gyál United's Gyula Grosics played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dominik Szoboszlai in the 88th minute of play. József Rigó made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Walmir Breckenfeld in the 91st minute of play. In the 94th minute of the match, Dávid Kiprich tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Gyula Grosics saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Hüseyin Alpsoy during the 96th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Hüseyin Alpsoy hit a great freekick 96 minutes into the match.
