Jarbas Guedes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Clóvis Cabral, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. 21 minutes into the game, Clóvis Cabral recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Jarbas Guedes. Clóvis Cabral showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-0. Inácio Figueiredo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Sune Rudberg read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 25th minute of play. 32 minutes into the match, Clóvis Cabral had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jarbas Guedes. S S Palestra Italia's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Clóvis Cabral was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. Clóvis Cabral took the ball and in the 36 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jarbas Guedes. Jarbas Guedes dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-0. Sune Rudberg showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Inácio Figueiredo in the 45th minute of the match. In the 45th match minute, ֆքօʀȶɨռɢ ʊǟɨ ʍʐƈ™ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Clóvis Cabral to maneuver through the defense. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 4-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Zé Roberto Moura was the one to do the kick off. With a little luck, ֆքօʀȶɨռɢ ʊǟɨ ʍʐƈ™'s Sune Rudberg got control of the ball when Inácio Figueiredo tried to sneak it across the goal line. Gilvan Seco made in the 54th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by ֆքօʀȶɨռɢ ʊǟɨ ʍʐƈ™'s Stig Ahlbeck. In the 55th minute, Tomas Roano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 60 minutes into the game, Hélder Lago threw the ball into play from the sideline. S S Palestra Italia's Gilvan Seco quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Jarbas Guedes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Piotr Osikowicz, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. Sune Rudberg took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rony Tasso, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Inácio Figueiredo got free with Sune Rudberg in the 75th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. A sloppy throw-in by Hélder Lago in the 76th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by S S Palestra Italia's Gilvan Seco. Jeremias Domenec hit a great freekick 82 minutes into the match. In the 84th minute of the match Rony Tasso shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Sune Rudberg showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. S S Palestra Italia's attentive Nestor Bernal managed to snatch the ball when Rüknettin Aysan made a throw-in in the 86th minute of the game. With his leg Sune Rudberg managed to avoid a goal in the 86thth minute, when S S Palestra Italia's Inácio Figueiredo fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. 89 minutes into the match, S S Palestra Italia's goal looked a bit too open when Piotr Osikowicz came free, but Jarbas Guedes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The ֆքօʀȶɨռɢ ʊǟɨ ʍʐƈ™ fans cheered their team off the field, for while S S Palestra Italia had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
