Talenti Roma Calcio's Christophe Rau played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alexander Bottone in the 8th minute of play. In the 14th minute of the match, Jeremias Mark tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Alvaro Rotili saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Felice Scurti made in the 18th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by A.S. Udinese's Dino Pozzoli. Alvaro Rotili made a fantastic save in the 23rd minute, when Buğrahan Vecih sent off a good shot on target. Jeremias Mark might have been able to make a better finish in the 25th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Alvaro Rotili. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jeremias Mark ran back to his position shaking his head. 30 minutes into the match, Alexander Bottone notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Talenti Roma Calcio's Christophe Rau. Christophe Rau was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Jeremias Mark sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Talenti Roma Calcio getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. Jens-Åke Sundström hit a great ball. 44 minutes into the match, Alexander Bottone had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Christophe Rau. Talenti Roma Calcio's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Alexander Bottone was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Jeremias Mark to strike the kick off in the second half. Christophe Rau didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Alexander Bottone went, in the 55th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-4 was the resulting score. A.S. Udinese's Bruno Maranzano was substituted for Alexander Damiani. A.S. Udinese made a substitution. Fabiano Di Fabio replaced Augusto Clemente. Cristiano Paolucci's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Christophe Rau read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 60th minute of play. A.S. Udinese's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Cristiano Paolucci in the 61st minute. Christophe Rau made a fantastic save in the 65th minute, when Alexander Bottone sent off a good shot on target. A.S. Udinese's Ercole Fiorentino was substituted for Alexander Bottone. In the 68th minute of the game Jens-Åke Sundström made a throw-in which Aurelio Piretti played forward. In the 72ndth minute of the game Ercole Fiorentino who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Talenti Roma Calcio's Christophe Rau was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Jeremias Mark had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jeremias Mark in the 79th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Alvaro Rotili saved A.S. Udinese from getting behind. Ercole Fiorentino took the ball and in the 80 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Christophe Rau. Christophe Rau dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-5. The referee felt a red card was in order, 93 minutes into the game, when Olivér Bierhoff put in a rough tackle. Talenti Roma Calcio's Fabiano Palmucci was substituted for Buğrahan Vecih. After 93 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for A.S. Udinese! A.S. Udinese's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
