The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Fabian Söderström made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jason Jonckers in the 9th minute of play. Jacinto Torres blasted a shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Hendrik Herremans having to make a save. Hendrik Herremans showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jacinto Torres in the 14th minute of the match. With a little luck, Haithabu FC's Fabian Söderström got control of the ball when Jason Jonckers tried to sneak it across the goal line. Haithabu FC's Fabian Söderström proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 17th minute of the match, managed to save Haithabu FC from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jacinto Torres in the 21st minute of play forced Limburg United's goalkeeper Hendrik Herremans to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Hendrik Herremans didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Jacinto Torres went, in the 23rd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. Haithabu FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Conrad Vrolijcx in the 26th minute. Conrad Vrolijcx made a great header on Haithabu FC's corner, it was just that Limburg United's Hendrik Herremans managed to reach the ball for a save. Jacinto Torres might have been able to make a better finish in the 28th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Hendrik Herremans. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jacinto Torres ran back to his position shaking his head. Limburg United's Hendrik Herremans played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jacinto Torres in the 29th minute of play. Jacinto Torres sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Hendrik Herremans went to the wrong direction when Jacinto Torres was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. In the 42nd minute, Haithabu FC's Visar De Hond seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Visar De Hond the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Haithabu FC protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Visar De Hond had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In a very dangerous position, a player in Haithabu FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 42nd minute. Penalty! The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jason Jonckers to make the kick off. A throw-in in the 58th minute of the game was made by Oji Sialagan with Anthony Standaerts as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. In the 63rd minute Jason Jonckers shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fabian Söderström saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jason Jonckers in the 66th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Fabian Söderström prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 69th minute Jason Jonckers shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fabian Söderström saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Limburg United getting a freekick after 74 minutes play. Oji Sialagan hit a great ball. Haithabu FC made a substitution. Mauri Icardi replaced Jacinto Torres. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bob Thielens in the 79th minute of play forced Haithabu FC's goalkeeper Fabian Söderström to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Simon Blomquist had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 82nd minute, Bob Thielens ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Fabian Söderström was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. After 85 played minutes Limburg United got a freekick which was hit by Luke Demarez. A collision led to Limburg United getting a freekick after 87 minutes play. Luke Demarez hit a great ball. 91 minutes into the match, Conrad Vrolijcx notched a goal, 2-2, to the right of Limburg United's Hendrik Herremans. Hendrik Herremans was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Conrad Vrolijcx could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 93rd minute of the match, but Hendrik Herremans made a huge save. A collision led to Limburg United getting a freekick after 94 minutes play. Anthony Standaerts hit a great ball. Haithabu FC were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
