Mike Zoetmulder showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hamza Yavaş in the 6th minute of the match. When FC Ouagadougou National's William Westelinx in the 8th minute got a chance for a shot 8th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye De Pelgrims's goalie prevented a goal. After 10 played minutes De Pelgrims got a freekick which was hit by Henk Cardinaal. De Pelgrims's Mike Zoetmulder played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by William Westelinx in the 13th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Perivaldo Eger in the 20th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rene Vereijt saved FC Ouagadougou National from getting behind. Zé Pedro Figueiredo made in the 29th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by FC Ouagadougou National's Karim Sia. The referee felt a red card was in order, 33 minutes into the game, when Jordi Meijer put in a rough tackle. After 32 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for De Pelgrims! De Pelgrims:s Mike Zoetmulder showed great skill when he stopped German Bernebe:s penalty. When FC Ouagadougou National's William Westelinx in the 35th minute got a chance for a shot 35th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye De Pelgrims's goalie prevented a goal. In the 38th minute, Sergen Şahbender hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Perivaldo Eger's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Rene Vereijt read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 40th minute of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and William Westelinx made a kick off. When the match clock showed 55 minutes, the score became 1-1 when William Westelinx sped through De Pelgrims's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Mike Zoetmulder. 59 minutes into the match, FC Ouagadougou National's goal looked a bit too open when Mathias de Ruijter came free, but Rene Vereijt reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mathias de Ruijter blasted a shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Rene Vereijt having to make a save. 63 minutes into the match, FC Ouagadougou National's goal looked a bit too open when Mathias de Ruijter came free, but Rene Vereijt reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mike Zoetmulder showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from William Westelinx in the 65th minute of the match. Mike Zoetmulder showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from William Westelinx, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. In the 67th minute Hamza Yavaş shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mike Zoetmulder saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sean Westelinx recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 71st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Rene Vereijt showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Perivaldo Eger in the 74th minute of the match. 76 minutes into the match, De Pelgrims's goal looked a bit too open when William Westelinx came free, but Mike Zoetmulder reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. FC Ouagadougou National made a substitution. Jedrzej Kiszkiel replaced William Westelinx. After 82 minutes of play, De Pelgrims's Perivaldo Eger made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. In the 93rd minute, FC Ouagadougou National's Abdulla Baia ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Mike Zoetmulder. Mike Zoetmulder yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-2. In the 96th minute, Abdulla Baia reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Mike Zoetmulder. The goal made the score 2-3. FC Ouagadougou National's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
