Nick Heesen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 3rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Mike Zoetmulder made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nick Heesen in the 3rd minute of play. In the 6th minute, Nick Heesen got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 8th minute, Nick Heesen made a precise shot to the right of Mike Zoetmulder. De Pelgrims's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. 10 minutes into the match, Ágætis Byrjun's goalkeeper Georg Hagberg had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Perivaldo Eger. Georg Hagberg showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mathias de Ruijter in the 12th minute of the match. If Nick Heesen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Mike Zoetmulder took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nick Heesen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ágætis Byrjun's Nick Heesen got a good chance for a goal in the 23rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The crowd rose to their feet as De Pelgrims's Henk Cardinaal slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Georg Hagberg. That made the score 1-1 after 25 minutes of play. The audience was convinced that Nick Heesen's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Mike Zoetmulder was relentless in the 29th minute of the game. Mike Zoetmulder made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ditlev Delmont in the 38th minute of play. 41 minutes into the match, Ágætis Byrjun's goal looked a bit too open when Henk Cardinaal came free, but Georg Hagberg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Fu Peng Feng fell near the penalty area in the 44th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored De Pelgrims's protests and gave Fu Peng Feng a yellow card for diving instead. In the 44th match minute, De Pelgrims was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fu Peng Feng to maneuver through the defense. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Perivaldo Eger was the one to do the kick off. Mike Zoetmulder showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nick Heesen, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. Georg Hagberg showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Henk Cardinaal in the 56th minute of the match. Jordi Meijer made in the 60th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Erben Roelofs immediately put the ball in play. Mike Zoetmulder took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nick Heesen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ditlev Delmont got free with Mike Zoetmulder in the 65th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Georg Hagberg came out of the goal in the 67th minute to try and stop a shot by De Pelgrims's Perivaldo Eger. But to his dismay, Perivaldo Eger quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-1. Georg Hagberg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Henk Cardinaal, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. Mike Zoetmulder made a fantastic save in the 74th minute, when Nick Heesen sent off a good shot on target. Georg Hagberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Henk Cardinaal in the 76th minute of play. 80 minutes into the match, De Pelgrims's goal looked a bit too open when Nick Heesen came free, but Mike Zoetmulder reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ágætis Byrjun made a substitution. Jelte Reitsma replaced Ernst Melis. After 82 minutes De Pelgrims's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Ladislao Cordarius who took care of the corner kick. The corner ended in Ladislao Cordarius almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but De Pelgrims's Mike Zoetmulder did a great save. In the 84th match minute, Ágætis Byrjun was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gregorio Urtsin to maneuver through the defense. Nick Heesen took the ball and in the 88 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Mike Zoetmulder. Mike Zoetmulder dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-2. 96 minutes into the match, Henk Cardinaal notched a goal, 4-2, to the right of Ágætis Byrjun's Georg Hagberg. Georg Hagberg was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. De Pelgrims were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Ágætis Byrjun for a fine match.
