Germán Figueres showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zigor Barroso, who was totally free with the ball in the 8th minute. In the 13th minute Cometuétano were awarded a corner. Antoni Paris went to the cornerflag to take it. A nice corner shot did that Antoni Paris got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Germán Figueres quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Cometuétano's Miks Lecis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Paquito Rey in the 21st minute of play. 24 minutes had been played when some careless play by Cometuétano's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Félix Zărnescu was slow to take the kick. During this time S.D NARCEA's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Manel Quintanilla almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Cometuétano's Miks Lecis did a great save. After having played for 32 minutes, Manel Quintanilla managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. S.D NARCEA's supporters crossed their fingers, but Manel Quintanilla was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 32nd minute Manel Quintanilla shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Miks Lecis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Miks Lecis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eugeniusz Milko in the 35th minute of the match. Miks Lecis stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Eugeniusz Milko's shot from short distance in the 37th minute. When Antoni Paris came up free with the goalie in the 40th minute, the Cometuétano fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Antoni Paris couldn't finish the play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Zigor Barroso in the 43rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Germán Figueres saved S.D NARCEA from getting behind. Germán Figueres took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zigor Barroso, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Miks Lecis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Paquito Rey in the 47th minute of the match. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Zigor Barroso to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute, Eugeniusz Milko hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 55th match minute, S.D NARCEA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Frisco Pascua to maneuver through the defense. In the 63rd match minute, Cometuétano was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alejandro Sevilla to maneuver through the defense. Cometuétano made a substitution. Kepa Portillo replaced Alejandro Sevilla. The supporters of S.D NARCEA booed when Cometuétano was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alejandro Sevilla didn't get a good kick on the ball. Paquito Rey kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. Germán Figueres showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zigor Barroso in the 68th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eugeniusz Milko in the 86th minute of play forced Cometuétano's goalkeeper Miks Lecis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 87 minutes Cometuétano's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Félix Zărnescu who took care of the corner kick.
