But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Kent Carney couldn't finish the play. Jonah Peck showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Max Hawthorne in the 27th minute of the match. Craig Rhoades took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 43rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Rusty Deering. ForestFire's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 47th minute, Cobi Babcock hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.

The wind increased when Tuan Zimmerman made the kick off in the second half. Clark Lindsey's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 53rdth minute, Rusty Deering skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. After 57 played minutes El Canalla de Chicago got a freekick which was hit by Dustin Thome. In the 73rd minute, Max Hawthorne ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jonah Peck was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Tuan Zimmerman struck a weak shot in the 77th minute. Jonah Peck didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for ForestFire.
