Leo Finn fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Glen Goode having to interfere. 34 minutes into the match, Brooklyn SC's goal looked a bit too open when Rudolph Thurman came free, but Glen Goode reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Clark Lindsey could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 43rd minute of the match, but Glen Goode made a huge save. Craig Rhoades charged in rather forcefully in the 45th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Craig Rhoades the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Craig Rhoades kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. After 47 minutes of play, Brooklyn SC's Domenic Ring made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jonah Peck was left in no man's land by his defense there! When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Clark Lindsey during the 53rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to El Canalla de Chicago getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Clark Lindsey hit a great ball. Cobi Babcock kicked well hit freekick during the 54th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in El Canalla de Chicago's zone, Pascal Dailey stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jonah Peck came out of the goal and Pascal Dailey tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, El Canalla de Chicago's Cobi Babcock got a free kick in the 65th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kent Carney in the 68th minute of play forced Brooklyn SC's goalkeeper Glen Goode to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Kent Carney had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Glen Goode made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Clark Lindsey in the 72nd minute of play. 74 minutes into the match, Brooklyn SC's goal looked a bit too open when Clark Lindsey came free, but Glen Goode reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. There was no doubt that El Canalla de Chicago were the better team. El Canalla de Chicago's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
