Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Merlin Castro in the 3rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Aaron Smallwood prevented the ball from getting in the gole. A collision led to Santos FC getting a freekick after 7 minutes play. Warren Ruiz hit a great ball. Aaron Smallwood showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Merlin Castro, who was totally free with the ball in the 8th minute. In the 9th minute Khachatryan were awarded a corner. Albert Paulíny went to the cornerflag to take it. Khachatryan's Albert Paulíny was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Aaron Smallwood in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Jermaine Richmond showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lanny Gilmore in the 12th minute of the match. In the 12th minute Lanny Gilmore shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jermaine Richmond saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 15 minutes into the game, Lanny Gilmore lined in a short shot 1-1 behind a frustrated Jermaine Richmond. After some fancy dribbling in the 18th minute, Hu Wei Shu managed to get in a good position for a shot. Khachatryan's supporters rose to their feet, but Hu Wei Shu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Aaron Smallwood breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Aaron Smallwood showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Merlin Castro in the 23rd minute of the match. Lanny Gilmore received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Jermaine Richmond tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jermaine Richmond took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tyron Velasquez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jermaine Richmond made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tyron Velasquez in the 26th minute of play. In the 31st minute Lanny Gilmore shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jermaine Richmond saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A sloppy throw-in by Jon Yost in the 32nd minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Santos FC's Terence Nicholas. Tyron Velasquez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jermaine Richmond having to interfere. With a little luck, Khachatryan's Jermaine Richmond got control of the ball when Tyron Velasquez tried to sneak it across the goal line. Santos FC's Aaron Smallwood played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Merlin Castro in the 40th minute of play. The referee gave Santos FC a penalty, 42 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Lanny Gilmore, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Khachatryan's Jermaine Richmond. 2-1. Jermaine Richmond showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lanny Gilmore in the 47th minute of the match. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Lanny Gilmore stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Santos FC's Terence Nicholas quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Bin Baresi, made in the 53rd minute of the game. Sung McKinley received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Aaron Smallwood tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 60 minutes had been played when some careless play by Santos FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Albert Paulíny was slow to take the kick. During this time Khachatryan's players had a chance to rest. The corner led Khachatryan's Albert Paulíny to fire away a dangerous shot which Aaron Smallwood despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Merlin Castro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Aaron Smallwood tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Khachatryan made a substitution. Wawrzyniec Budrewicz replaced Petros Oganesyan. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lanny Gilmore in the 64th minute of play forced Khachatryan's goalkeeper Jermaine Richmond to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The corner led Santos FC's Warren Ruiz to fire away a dangerous shot which Jermaine Richmond despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Merlin Castro took the ball and in the 89 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Aaron Smallwood. Aaron Smallwood dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-2. Sung McKinley received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Aaron Smallwood came out and tried to block the shot, but Sung McKinley slotted it home off the left post making it 2-3 in the 94th minute.
