Suns's Leonel Nogueira got a good chance for a goal in the 35th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Clemente Mendonça showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Azad Eshkevari, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. Salman Roudbarian made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jeremias de Souza in the 40th minute of play. Omid Ferdowsi Pour took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 42nd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Clemente Mendonça. Suns's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Durvalino Cordeiro kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. Azad Eshkevari in the 45thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Clemente Mendonça, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save.

Noel da Fonseca was slow to take the kick. During this time Suns's players had a chance to rest. A well-hit corner resulted in Jeremias de Souza heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. After 85 played minutes Iran got a freekick which was hit by Bamshad Mofti. Salman Roudbarian took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Leonel Nogueira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 94 played minutes Iran got a freekick which was hit by Azad Eshkevari. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. Iran were victorious despite being under pressure from Suns for much of the match.
