After 10 played minutes, Desportivo Coala's Gilvan Azevedo shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Marcelinho Abraão came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Desportivo Coala reached it. Ronalds McDonald fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marcelinho Abraão having to interfere. Luizão Peixoto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Astor Hug having to interfere. If Fernandinho Albuquerque had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Astor Hug took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luizão Peixoto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Luizão Peixoto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Marcelinho Abraão showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ronalds McDonald, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. If Ronalds McDonald had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Marcelinho Abraão stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ronalds McDonald's shot from short distance in the 39th minute. With an all-out effort, Karaboudjan's Astor Hug threw himself towards the right post 40 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Fernandinho Albuquerque, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. The supporters of Karaboudjan booed when Desportivo Coala was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rodrigo Alcântara didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ronalds McDonald in the 46th minute of play forced Karaboudjan's goalkeeper Marcelinho Abraão to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ronalds McDonald to make the kick off. Ronalds McDonald struck a weak shot in the 56th minute. Ronalds McDonald made a great header on Desportivo Coala's corner, it was just that Karaboudjan's Marcelinho Abraão managed to reach the ball for a save. Marcelinho Abraão stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ronalds McDonald's shot from short distance in the 82nd minute. Marián De Bruyne might have been able to make a better finish in the 83rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Marcelinho Abraão. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. In the 94th match minute, Karaboudjan was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Renato Pitta to maneuver through the defense. In the 95th minute, Ronalds McDonald sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Karaboudjan's Marcelinho Abraão didn't even have to move. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
