In the 14th minute, Jairo Dante fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Biagio Furino, passed just outside the right post. In the 14th match minute, Paraná Clube Brasil was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Frederico Pontes to maneuver through the defense. After some careless play in the Paraná Clube Brasil defense, Luisinho Netto kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Biagio Furino. In the 34thth minute of the game Arlindo Silveira who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but SAO JOANENSE FC's Amadeu Lamego was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 36th minute of the match Paraná Clube Brasil got a corner. SAO JOANENSE FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Zé Pedro Prestes ran over to the corner to take the kick. Carlos Eduardo Toledo thought of kicking away a contribution in front of goal but messed it up so badly that the ball went to the right of an astonished Amadeu Lamego, a very annoying self made goal in the 36th minute which led to 1-1. 40 minutes into the match, Paraná Clube Brasil's goal looked a bit too open when Alessandro Meirelles came free, but Biagio Furino reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of SAO JOANENSE FC booed when Paraná Clube Brasil was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Frederico Pontes didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

In the 53rd minute, Jairo Dante left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The SAO JOANENSE FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. A well-hit corner resulted in Giovani Batista heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. Biagio Furino made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luisinho Netto in the 80th minute of play. In the 82nd minute Alessandro Meirelles shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Biagio Furino saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 84 minutes into the match, Paraná Clube Brasil's goal looked a bit too open when Jairo Dante came free, but Biagio Furino reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Horácio Alcântara in the 85th minute of play forced Paraná Clube Brasil's goalkeeper Biagio Furino to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Biagio Furino showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luisinho Netto, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. After a rather tough play, Paraná Clube Brasil's Valdemar Almeida got a free kick in the 93rd minute. SAO JOANENSE FC's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
