Trindade Atlético Club's Tiaguinho Correia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fernandão Recife in the 10th minute of play. Wilson Fernandez was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 14th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Laerte Lucas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 25th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 27 minutes in the game Natanael de Godoi did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Fernandão Recife. After a rather tough play, Trindade Atlético Club's Valentin Blomkvist got a free kick in the 29th minute. When Gonçalo Mello came up free with the goalie in the 30th minute, the Montevideo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gonçalo Mello couldn't finish the play. 35 minutes into the match, Montevideo's goal looked a bit too open when Maurinho Dias came free, but Ronaldo Medeiros reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dagoberto Dracena received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Ronaldo Medeiros tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Montevideo getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Mário Maranhense hit a great ball. In the 41st minute of the match Maurinho Dias sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ronaldo Medeiros skillfully saved the ball. Sílvio Cavalcante kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match.

In the 50th minute, Christian Passos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Trindade Atlético Club getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. 于竞思 hit a great ball. Tiaguinho Correia showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gonçalo Mello, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. Dagoberto Dracena could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 55th minute of the match, but Ronaldo Medeiros made a huge save. Montevideo's Gonçalo Mello got a good chance for a goal in the 56th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Tiaguinho Correia didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Gonçalo Mello went, in the 64th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. After some careless play in the Trindade Atlético Club defense, Gonçalo Mello kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Tiaguinho Correia. The Trindade Atlético Club fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Tiaguinho Correia should have stopped the shot. Trindade Atlético Club's Ruperto Emenon was substituted for Dragoş Vâtcu. Trindade Atlético Club made a substitution. Róbson Couto replaced Dagoberto Dracena. Trindade Atlético Club's Enio Koehler was substituted for 于竞思. Ronaldo Medeiros didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Róbson Couto went, in the 70th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
