An unexpectedly hard shot by Paulo Laurentzi in the 18th minute of play forced ATHLETICO PRaiano's goalkeeper Rodriguinho Sousa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 20 minutes into the match, Criciúma Esporte Clube's goal looked a bit too open when Ralf Albäck came free, but Evelio Antoniano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Evelio Antoniano made an important save on a dangerous shot by Denílson Magalhães in the 39th minute. In the 40th minute, Gaztea Regalado hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gaztea Regalado kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. Ralf Albäck recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 42nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

After a rather tough play, ATHLETICO PRaiano's Gu Zhan Cheng got a free kick in the 54th minute. 57 minutes into the match, Criciúma Esporte Clube's goal looked a bit too open when Denílson Magalhães came free, but Evelio Antoniano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Luiz Valadares hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. ATHLETICO PRaiano made a substitution. Heitor Maldini replaced Betão Marquez. In the 60th match minute, Criciúma Esporte Clube was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luiz Valadares to maneuver through the defense.
