But to his dismay, Vladimir Fonseca quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Evelio Antoniano took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vladimir Fonseca, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 32nd minute Vladimir Fonseca shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Evelio Antoniano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Criciúma Esporte Clube's Evelio Antoniano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vladimir Fonseca in the 39th minute of play. Rodrigo Vidal took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Paulo Laurentzi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 46 played minutes Pura Arte F.C got a freekick which was hit by Frederico Fontes. With a little luck, Pura Arte F.C's Rodrigo Vidal got control of the ball when Bieito Villaurreta tried to sneak it across the goal line. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The Criciúma Esporte Clube fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Pura Arte F.C's Rodrigo Vidal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Paulo Laurentzi in the 82nd minute of play. The supporters of Pura Arte F.C booed when Criciúma Esporte Clube was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luiz Valadares didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 94 minutes, Vladimir Fonseca managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Pura Arte F.C's supporters crossed their fingers, but Vladimir Fonseca was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
