But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Elian Benedicto couldn't finish the play. The audience was convinced that Elian Benedicto's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Felipo Manosalva was relentless in the 34th minute of the game. Gomesano Cayuela received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Elian Benedicto's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Felipo Manosalva read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 44th minute of play. After the first half Villawalter City were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

After a defensive mix-up in Club Deportivo Diagüita's zone, Gomesano Cayuela stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Felipo Manosalva came out of the goal and Gomesano Cayuela tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 76th match minute, Club Deportivo Diagüita was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Maximino Duronov to maneuver through the defense. Elian Benedicto let the left foot speak when in front of goal in the 80th minute shot 0-4 at rihgt post. After having played for 88 minutes, Coronel Revuelta managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Villawalter City's supporters crossed their fingers, but Coronel Revuelta was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Elian Benedicto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
