In the 37th minute Gomesano Cayuela shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Johan Schönberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 40 minutes into the match, Cusco FC's goal looked a bit too open when Mino Puig came free, but Johan Schönberg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Cusco FC's Gabon Salantes slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Antonio Canal. That made the score 3-1 after 44 minutes of play.

The Cusco FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-2. A very good chance for a goal. 89 minutes had been played when some careless play by Cusco FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Sebastián Olivarez was slow to take the kick. During this time Villawalter City's players had a chance to rest. When Elian Benedicto came up free with the goalie in the 94th minute, the Villawalter City fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Elian Benedicto couldn't finish the play.
