In the 14th match minute, Facopo FBPA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fernandão Aparecido to maneuver through the defense. Fernando Leme hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. In the 19th minute Marcelo Souza shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nestor Sampaio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cido Cavalcante showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fernando Leme in the 25th minute of the match. Augusto Alcântara hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. In the 39th minute Guto Cabral shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cido Cavalcante saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Diego do Valle lost his temper 41 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. The referee gave Facopo FBPA a penalty, 44 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Marcelo Souza, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of GRÊMIO's Nestor Sampaio. 1-0. After a defensive mix-up in GRÊMIO's zone, Augusto Alcântara stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nestor Sampaio came out of the goal and Augusto Alcântara tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Flávio Carioca kicked well hit freekick during the 51st minute of the match. A hard shot by Guto Cabral from long distance, 52 minutes into the match, got Cido Cavalcante's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Cido Cavalcante made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gildo Linares in the 55th minute of play. In the 57th minute Gildo Linares shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cido Cavalcante saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Guto Cabral got free with Cido Cavalcante in the 60th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Marcelo Souza blasted a shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Nestor Sampaio having to make a save. Nestor Sampaio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marcelo Souza in the 62nd minute of play. 64 minutes into the match, Facopo FBPA's goal looked a bit too open when Gildo Linares came free, but Cido Cavalcante reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, GRÊMIO's Acácio Donato got a free kick in the 67th minute. After 71 played minutes GRÊMIO got a freekick which was hit by Guto Cabral. Gildo Linares might have been able to make a better finish in the 81st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Cido Cavalcante. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gildo Linares ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Walmyr Simões in the 89th minute of play forced GRÊMIO's goalkeeper Nestor Sampaio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tyson Touro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Cido Cavalcante tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Many of GRÊMIO's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. GRÊMIO may have spent more time on the ball, but Facopo FBPA were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
